FAQ
Questions about Image2Layer tools
Which tools are free?
Every tool marked “Free · no sign-in” runs in your browser: PSD Viewer, PSD to PNG, PSD to JPG, PSD to PDF, Quick PSD, SVG to PNG, Color Replacer, Photo to Pixel Art, GIF to Frames, GIF to Sprite Sheet, and Video to GIF. They need no account, use no credits and do not upload your file.
What do the AI tools cost?
Tools marked “Credits” run AI models on our servers, so they need an account and use credits. Image to Layers charges 8 credits for each layer you receive, and an AI subject cut-out costs 10 credits. Failed jobs are not charged. The Pricing page lists every price and the credit packs.
What does “Free with transparent PNG” mean?
Silhouette Maker and Photo to Sticker are free when you start from a transparent PNG or one of the built-in examples, and the styling runs in your browser. If your photo still has its background, the optional AI subject cut-out needs sign-in and uses 10 credits.
Are my files uploaded?
Not with the free browser tools: they read the file on your device and send nothing to our servers. AI tools upload your image so the model can process it.
Are the layers really editable?
Yes. Image to Layers and the other AI layer tools return separate raster layers you can move, hide, mask and retouch in Photoshop, Photopea, GIMP, Affinity Photo or Krita. Text comes back as pixels rather than live type, and a logo as pixels rather than vector shapes. Quick PSD does not split anything: it saves your picture as a single layer.
